Lenus raises over 26 million euros and increases its value
The Danish health tech company Lenus is accelerating its ambitious plans with a new investment from multiple Danish investors. The capital injection increases the company's total valuation.
In a challenging venture market, Lenus secures over 26 million euros in a new investment from several prominent Danish investors.
Following the largest Series A investment in Danish history, when Lenus secured 52 million euros in 2021, the new investment round further raises the company's valuation.
"At Lenus, our goal is to make the world a healthier place. This investment round enables us to execute our ambitious plans even faster. We will invest in developing and scaling our platform with even more innovative tools for the benefit of our coaches, and we plan to expand to more countries," says CEO of Lenus, Bertram Thorslund.
With successful openings in both New York and Los Angeles last year, the USA has quickly become one of Lenus' largest markets. In less than one year, Lenus entered both the US and four new European markets.
The new investment prepares Lenus to fulfill its continued ambition for a strong global presence.
Among the investors are Denmark's Export and Investment Fund (EIFO) and the two founders of the tech company 3Shape, Tais Clausen and Nikolaj Deichmann.
"We look forward to benefiting from the extensive knowledge and experience, particularly in health tech, that EIFO, Tais Clausen, Nikolaj Deichmann, and their investment teams bring. We are convinced that it will further strengthen Lenus and contribute to fulfilling our mission of reversing the negative health trend," says Bertram Thorslund.
At EIFO, Mads Lacoppidan, Head of Life Science Investments, sees great potential in the investment.
"Lifestyle diseases are one of the world's major threats to global health. Part of the solution is to work strategically with preventive health and invest in health before people get sick. Lenus' innovative platform enables exactly this. In Denmark's Export and Investment Fund, we want to support the development of innovative digital solutions that contribute to our health, and that is also the reason for our new investment," says Mads Lacoppidan.
The two founders of 3Shape, Tais Clausen and Nikolaj Deichmann, also have high expectations for Lenus.
"We are greatly interested in initiatives promoting a healthier, better, and longer life. And here, Lenus has a platform and the potential to make a big difference. At the same time, it is a very innovative company driven by ambitious and skilled people. With its highly scalable business model, Lenus can reach many people in many geographies and become a large international company with Danish roots," says Nikolaj Deichmann on behalf of both his own investment unit and Tais Clausen's investment unit, Sagitta Ventures.
