Health tech innovator, Lenus, proudly unveils the world’s first academy for holistic online health coaching
The Danish health tech company Lenus has embarked on a groundbreaking initiative by creating the world's first education for online holistic health coaching. The global public health is on a decline, and our health challenges are more intricate than ever before. There is a need for preventive and scalable measures to reverse this downward trend, emphasizing the importance of viewing health holistically, beyond traditional elements such as exercise and nutrition.
Increasingly, we hear about pension companies attributing a growing portion of their payouts to stress and mental health issues. The rising awareness of the crucial role mental health plays in our overall well-being has led to an increased focus on preventative measures. Simultaneously, there has been a growing focus among individuals on their physical health, as reflected in the increasing trend of using various monitoring devices to constantly track factors such as physical activity, body temperature, and sleep quality.
Founder & CEO, Bertram Thorslund, explains how the new education at Lenus Academy will combine the different aspects of human health to provide a more holistic approach:
“Human health is complex and involves various bio-psycho-social elements that mutually influence and depend on each other. Today, if you want to be trained in all essential elements as a coach, such as physical activity, human nutrition, sleep, habit change, and mental and social health, you have to take a variety of different educations. With our Online Holistic Coach education, it's possible to study all aspects of health. In other words, a holistic or general health education.”
He further elaborates on why the online element is also a crucial factor:
"Online coaching is the fastest-growing category within coaching. There are many reasons for this, including geographic limitations for clients, a lower price point allowing more people to participate, and overall higher efficiency and scalability, enabling each coach to assist more people and contribute to public health. Therefore, it is essential to have education specifically focused on online coaching so coaches can be trained in both the opportunities and limitations of the format," says Bertram Thorslund.
The industry applauds Lenus
Lenus Academy and the new education, 'Holistic Online Coach,' will be launched in the first quarter of 2024.
The education consists of courses developed in collaboration with leading experts in areas such as 'Sleep and Recovery,' 'Mental Well-being,' 'Social Health,' and 'Healthy Eating Habits,' in addition to the more traditional elements within exercise, fitness, and nutrition. All courses in the education will be certified by the industry organization EuropeActive - who is also excited about Lenus' initiative and ambitions to further develop the industry.
EuropeActive's CEO, Andreas Paulsen, states:
"At EuropeActive, we recognize Lenus for taking the lead and investing massively in creating high standards in the industry. The pandemic accelerated the development of digital fitness services, and EuropeActive wants as much transparency and quality as possible among online coaches - Lenus Academy can contribute to that."
Enrollment for the Holistic Online Coach education is currently available for coaches who collaborate with Lenus.
